I can't seem to find the above. I tried the various yum tricks. What package

I'm not at home, now, where the machine is, but I am able to
look. I was definitely 'missing something' because there is the
executable right where you show it to be. /usr/bin is the first
place I look for such things. so chalk this up to aging vision.
I presume it disappeared from the menu when I upgraded from FC6
to F7 on that machine - a number of things in menus got borked
for some reason. Didn't happen on this one, which is very
similar to my home box...

The menus seem to *always* get borked with an upgrade. :)

I seem to always have to delete .config, .local, and .kde/share/applnk with
every upgrade just to get my menus working again. Is the "standard" for the
desktop menu system ever going to stablize?

Those parts of the system that you can hit with a hammer (not advised)
are called hardware; those program instructions that you can only curse
at are called software.

It *should* have been stable (ie, no significant changes) since kde-3.5.6
(mid-cycle), and definitely since kde-3.5.7 has been released.
