KPP Under KDE 4 Not Working

Rex, first off, many thanks for all your efforts in making KDE available
in Fedora. Your work is greatly appreciated!

We're testing KDE 4 and found that KPP recognizes the modem but dials
the ISP number at about 20 second intervals without connecting. 'Cancel'
stops the process. The error logs don't show any problems.

The modem works as it's supposed to under an identical system running
Fedora 8 and KDE 3.5.8 '

We have the same problem with the rawhide version (Fedora 9).

All systems are fully updated i386 machines.

Any work-arounds or fixes? If Bugzilla, where?

PS You might want to check 8/i386/unstable/RPMS. The ggz-client- libs
files are 86_64 rpms.

Not reported yet, please do. :) I'd recommend starting upstream at
bugs.kde.org.

I found this whilst reading through kde.bugs this evening:

Maybe worth watching..

Cheers

PS Rex I forgot to mention spell checking is working again in 4.0.1 :)

Rex and Colin, thanks for your help. I've added comments to

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157913

which seems to be 'on-point' with our problem.

FWIW, from our limited testing of KDE 4 under both Fedora 8 & 9 thus
far, we're pleased to find that '4 is more functional than we expected.
From the comments we've seen, much of the missing functionality is
being/will be returned over time. I especially miss the right click,
'move' or 'copy' files function!

Familiarization with new placements, terminology etc took some time (and
training). While a 'how-to' guide might have been helpful, we could
resolve most of the changes intuitively. Others', MMV.
