Hi,

has anybody made any attempts to build packages for RedHat 4? (oh yes,
that will require lots of new packages...)

Thanks,
Martin

No real chance. rhel4 is just too old and missing too much (heck, we're
having trouble building all of kde-3.5.9 even now).

In particular, rhel4 has too old dbus, which is absolutely essential for
kde4.

Yes, that was discussed onlist awhile back. I'm game to try that, just
-ENOTIME for awhile.

One of these days, I'll have to bite the bullet, and upload all this
stuff back to a real scm, and then start allowing others to help work on
it... Did that way back when with sourceforge's cvs, but then it got
way too flaky... maybe it's better now.

Rex:

Yes, I participated in the prior discussion and even built KDE 4.0
from source on CentOS 5.1 (I believe I sent to you the output from
those builds). I'm just low on time, though it sounds like you are in
the same situation, and was trying to be lazy!! ;-)

Thanks for all of your work.
