4.1.85. Seems kwalletmanager doesn't start @login automatically. Use to.

It never started @ login, it only ever started on demand (ie, when a
wallet was needed).

I confirm this behavior. KMail starts on a regular startup during login but it doesn't demand kwallet (it used to). It has to be started manually.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, but Kwallet works as it should here
(4.1.85) with KMail.
You could try moving the relevant Kwallet config files out of the way, say to
your home DIR and see how that works. Obviously you would have to start over
again.

I did have a problem when I first installed 2009. I manually started
kwalletmanager and checked all the settings, but I don't recall changing
anything. Since then KMail asks for the wallet (it's always the first thing I
open) but there is definitely a bug. The old version put the wallet manager
into the system tray automatically when a wallet was in use. Now you don't
get the manager unless you start it specifically.

Well Anne on this F10 box - kde-4.1.85 as soon as an App (KMail for example)
needs the wallet it does start up in the system tray after I enter my Kwallet
password.
