Yes, known breakage w/kdepim(4) in unstable. I'll get to spinning fixed
kdeutils/kdepim (for unstable) over the next day or so.

I got around this but not updating kdeutils, mine is still 4.0.98 :)

Question Rex, I take it the current kdepim-4.0.99 we use will run with kde-4.1
when released ?

Cheers

A definite maybe. Actually, probably not. It'll need to be rebuilt
(akonadi abi breakage I think).

Ok thanks for that Rex,

I'll hold off updating until the new pim4 is in unstable.

Hi Rex

Will this pose a problem?

For those of us that are using the new kdepim and kontact will the downgrade
destroy calendar data or are formats the same.

Depends on the "problem".

Downgrading kdepim4->kdepim3 ? Should work, and should be mostly the
same data, formats, but config changes sometimes are incompatible with
downgrades.

If already using kdepim(4), upgrading to kdepim-4.1.0 (once built and
available) should be pain-free.

Ahh.. I misunderstood? kdepim-4.1.0 will be available?

If I understood well they will be available just in kde-redhat but not in
Fedora for F9. For Fedora this will happen for F10 (the packages are already
in rawhide).

The difference in the policy is due to the fact that the current version of
kdepim available in F9 is from kde3.

Something like this:
