Comment #1 there (from me):
Just and fyi, haven't had much chance to look more, but kde-4.0.98
(built for F-9 here), falls over with many-a-error of the form:

kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/libexec/kde4/klauncher
ASSERT: "d" in file
/builddir/build/BUILD/kdelibs-4.0.98/kdecore/kernel/kcomponentdata.cpp,
line 158
kdeinit4: (klauncher /usr/libexec/kde4/klauncher) Pipe closed unexpectedly
kdeinit4: Pipe closed unexpectedly: No such file or director

Kevin Kofler has heroicly id'd the offending upstream commit that triggered the problem, and produced a quick-n-dirty to fix it (short term). So, looks like we'll be pushing these to unstable soonish.

Long term, a better fix needs to be had, but for now, happy happy.

That's great news :)

One slight problem though, update fails here this morning:

Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/share/icons/oxygen/32x32/actions/appointment-new.png conflicts
between attempted installs of kdepim-4.0.98-1.fc9.i386 and oxygen-icon-
theme-4.0.98-1.fc10.noarch

Also kdebase-4.0.98 seems missing.

Cheers

The same here, it is becoming a real improvement over 4.0.5.
