FYI, folks, been hammering on building kde-4.1beta (4.0.80) last night,
pkgs will filter into the f9 kde-redhat/unstable repos real soon.

My gift before leaving on vacation friday. enjoy.

Thanks. :-)

To update I had to remove the following packages:

basket-kontact i386 1.0.2-5.fc9 installed 50 k
extragear-plasma i386 4.0.1-5.fc9 installed 1.3 M
kipi-plugins i386 0.1.5-0.6.rc2.fc9 installed 17 M
kmobiletools i386 0.4.3.3-4.fc9 installed 406 k
taskjuggler-libs i386 2.4.0-8.fc9 installed 1.0 M
tellico i386 1.3.2.1-1.fc9 installed 8.0 M

I know that basket-kontact is not yet working and some of the other need to be
rebuild for the new packages.

I am just surprised about extragear-plasma and kmobiletools, shouldn't those
be provided by the updated packages?

extragear-plasma was renamed, and will be provided by something else
(not yet packaged). The others are kdepim(3) casualties.

Ah, looks like kdepim4 includes kmobiletools, we need to add an
Obsoletes for that. thx!

Not anymore.
We won't be shipping kmobiletools with kdepim4. But we hope to try again with KDE 4.2.

And don't forget that kpilot also won't be shipping with kdepim4.

OK Rex... I hope you get this when you get back. Rest Well.

First off... I won't be able to give 4.1 beta a serious test because its
running on a computer thats hooked up to my TV only. So I'm working at
800X600 and of course with the TV's dot pitch with a Legacy NVidia card and
no adequate driver yet for Fedora 9.

Be that as it may.... Much much better than 4.0. Once the Xinerama issues are
dealt with for the newer version of Xorg then I will probably get my main
desktop upgraded.

As usual. Thank you for your great work

Hmm, what about multilib packages? Seems like qt*.i386 packages should
also be in the x86_64 repositories, otherwise there are file
conflicts, e.g.

file /usr/share/qt4/translations/qt_de.qm from install of
qt-4.4.0-5.fc9.x86_64 conflicts with file from package
qt-4.3.5-1.fc9.i386

Or do I have to change my .repo somehow to generally enable the i386 repos?

kde-redhat repos have never been multilib (it's a pain in the arse to
get right), sorry.

If you want multilib, you'll need to deal with it manually, either by
installing i386 stuff by hand or by also enabling the i386 repo.

Suggestions, help here welcome.

Ok, just adding repo entries for i386 did the trick. In fact, only qt
and qt-x11 were needed in both archs on my system.

PS: Just a side note: scrolling of messages in kmail or knode is
awfully slow - anyone else seeing this?

Only in the message preview window in Kmail it "smooth scrolls" fairly slowly
but its not a problem for me, with Knode it seems the same as it was in
4.0.5/3.5 etc.

Cheers
