Hi y'all

Giving yum another chance because I saw all those promising neet plugins.

Question.... How come?

I'm going around in circles between ATRpms and Livna with mpg321 mpg123.

The first time I upgrade I get this
--------------------
Installing:
mpg123 x86_64 0.67-4.fc8 atrpms 201 k
replacing mpg321.x86_64 0.2.10.4-1.lvn8

The Second time
------------------------
Installing:
mpg123 x86_64 0.67-4.fc8 atrpms 201 k
replacing mpg321.x86_64 0.2.10.4-1.lvn8

The third time I upgrade yum wants to install mpg123 from atrpms.

How come I get this behavior with the configuration below.

[livna]
name=Livna for Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
baseurl=
http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/

Most likely both virtual provides the same thing. (have have the same
version)
On a side note, IME mixing Livna and ATRPMs brings a world of problems.

It depends really. However, I don't have a choice really. Livna for the most
part doesn't suit my needs. (ie. the computer that I have run into this funny
issue -- resolved with exclude= ). This particular computer is one that I
have attached to my tv. I'm slowly becoming familiar with mythtv which is
provided by ATRpms and not by Livna. The extras that are provided by Livna
are not that compelling. The Freshrpms and RPMForge rpms better suit my needs
as they cover a broader spectrum of applications at least the type of things
that I do.

Actually, I would rather be using Freshrpms they complement Fedora beautifully
and so fit nicely with just about everything else. The extra stuff provided
there come closest to matching the naming conventions that the orignal Fedora
packages come with and as such they are easier to upgrade due to consistency.

However, right now Matthias seems to be pre occupied with something as I've
tried to point out a couple of problems on his sites regarding Fedora 8 but
I'm not getting any response. Anybody know anything about what's going on
with him.

Matthias is working with folks from livna (and few others) to unite
repos under rpmfusion.org. That may explain some of his preoccupation.
