OK.

This one is a bit weird.

I'm getting an endless loop with kdemultimedia-3.5.7-1.fc6 and
kdemultimedia-devel-3.5.7-1.fc6

apt-get is reporting that it wants to install the packages from the testing
repos even though they are already installed from kde testing. This is true
for i386 and x86_64 repos.

apt-get clean
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

Get:1 http://apt.kde-redhat.org fedora/6/x86_64/testing kdemultimedia
6:3.5.7-1.fc6 [5374kB]
Get:2 http://apt.kde-redhat.org fedora/6/x86_64/testing kdemultimedia-devel
6:3.5.7-1.fc6 [143kB]

package kdemultimedia-3.5.7-1.fc6 is already installed
package kdemultimedia-devel-3.5.7-1.fc6 is already installed

So far so good with fedora 7

Eli

apt on fc6 seems very confused.

LOL

Me too?

If you can find the time, anyway to rebuild with a higher version number?

I installed fc7 from the live kde cd. In spite of not choosing dhcp, but
rather a fixed ip I get dhcp and therefore an unwanted ip-number every time I
reboot. The reason is that the usual network service is not running and
NetworkManager uses dhcp no matter what you do. That is rather catastrophic
for me because I have the computer connected to a linksys router and outside
requests are directed to a specific ip number. If the electricity goes and
the computer reboots, I would no longer have access. I have repaired it by
disabling NetworkManager and enabling network, but it seems to be an error in
the installation program that you choose a fixed ip and get a variable dhcp
ip anyway

Best regards

Erik

plus not starting network means the loopback interface isn't brought up,
that makes e.g. postfix start up failing.

Did you ever realize how much text fits in eighty columns? If you now consider
that a signature usually consists of up to four lines, this gives you enough
space to spread a tremendous amount of information with your messages. So seize
this opportunity and don't waste your signature with bullshit nobody will read.
