Anyway know why fc6 is still stuck with firefox-1.5, while fc7 is now
using firefox-2.0 ?

Thanks.

Dunno, the official party line supposedly was that firefox-2.0 wouldn't
be used at all:

Maybe they're open to changing their minds?

I also thought the primary argument was FF2 was really nothing more than a
publicity release (remember Redhat Linux 7-8-9 ...) and was really only a
minor change from 1.5. The "Hell, its FF2, it *must* be better than 1.5"
trick.

Recently I thought I would see what all the fuss on the main fedora list was
about (this comes up all the time) and upgraded FF to 2 using

http://remi.collet.free.fr/index.php?2005/10/02/8-telechargement-installation-et-yum

and I can confirm its really not that different to 1.5 - Maybe a little faster
(and of course some plugins/themes now require at least V2)

or maybe FF3 is not going to be ready in time for FC7. Not updating FC6 to FF2
was justifiable, but keeping FC7 on FF1.5 would just look a little silly
IMHO.

cheers Chris

p.s. Apologies for the acronym fest :)
