Hi,
on my RHEL4 box I have installed digikam from the kde-redhat repos.
kde-redhat also provides the required exiv2 and libexiv2 packages.
Since a while EPEL provides an updated version of exiv2 which clashes
with the version from kde-redhat:
$ yum update
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Loading "protectbase" plugin
Loading "versionfix" plugin
Loading "kmdl" plugin
Loading "kernel-module" plugin
Setting up Update Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Excluding Packages in global exclude list
Finished
53 packages excluded due to repository protections
Beginning versionfix
Ending versionfix
Resolving Dependencies
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package exiv2.x86_64 0:0.17.1-1.el4 set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: libexiv2.so.0()(64bit) for package: digikam
--> Processing Dependency: libexiv2.so.0()(64bit) for package: libkexiv2
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Beginning Kernel Module Plugin
Finished Kernel Module Plugin
Error: Missing Dependency: libexiv2.so.0()(64bit) is needed by package digikam
Error: Missing Dependency: libexiv2.so.0()(64bit) is needed by package
libkexiv2
$ yum list exiv2
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Loading "protectbase" plugin
Loading "versionfix" plugin
Loading "kmdl" plugin
Loading "kernel-module" plugin
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Excluding Packages in global exclude list
Finished
53 packages excluded due to repository protections
Beginning versionfix
Ending versionfix
Installed Packages
exiv2.x86_64 0.14-1.el4 installed
Available Packages
exiv2.x86_64 0.17.1-1.el4 epel
exiv2.i386 0.17.1-1.el4 epel
By using priorities for the repos, I can work around the clash, but
maybe we can find a better solution.
Cheers,
Andreas
